Dr. Israel (Yisroel) Benporat is a Fellow at Yeshiva University and the Senior Associate for Faculty Engagement in New York at the Academic Engagement Network (AEN), as well as a Tikvah Academic Fellow. Previously, he served as a lecturer at Yeshiva University in the Department of History and in the Straus Center for Torah and Western Thought. He also taught history at City College and Queens College, and he served as Managing Editor of Lehrhaus. He holds a PhD in history from CUNY Graduate Center, and he graduated summa cum laude from Yeshiva University.
His peer-reviewed publications have appeared or are forthcoming in Early American Studies: An Interdisciplinary Journal, in Journal of Early American History, in Journal of the Bible and its Reception, and in Tradition: A Journal of Orthodox Jewish Thought. He has also written articles and book reviews in Journal of Religious History, Journal of the American Revolution, RealClear History, Providence, Lehrhaus, Algemeiner, eJewishPhilanthropy, TraditionOnline, Jewish Journal, and Torah Musings. He has been featured by the Jack Miller Center, Mosaic Magazine, 18Forty, and on multiple podcasts.
